Evening Event
On Sunday evening the 24th August I attended a First Contact Conventions event in the city with Lou Diamond Phillips. It’s hard attending events in the evening when you have work the next day but Lou was amazing and seeing so many friends and catching up was great. I had a front row seat at the event so got to watch Lou’s panel and hear his stories from close up. He is a great story teller and very comedic, it was a real joy and I’m glad I attended the event.
As usual I am not the best at remembering what is said during panels, it doesn’t help that this event was on a Sunday night. He spoke about his work on movies such as La Bamba and Young Guns and TV shows like Stargate Universe and Longmire. He also talked about his work on Broadway which was the reason he was currently in Melbourne, of his work on The King and I as the King of Siam.
Meeting Lou
Lou Diamond Phillips was such a lovely person to meet, very sweet, generous and down to earth. I was glad to get to meet him and speak to him briefly as I got my photo with him, he was a true gentleman.
Unfortunately, this is only a small event recap as it was only a small evening event with only the one guest. It really was a great evening and I’m so glad I had the opportunity to catch up with so many friends that I hadn’t seen in a while.
