Jurassic World Exhibition
Today I attended the Jurassic World Exhibition at Melbourne Museum with a friend as part of my birthday celebration for my 30th birthday. The exhibition inspired by the box-office smash Jurassic World opened in March this year and it takes you on a mock journey into movie land. The exhibition starts with you stepping on to the Isla Nublar ferry where you are transported to a prehistoric world of Jurassic dinosaurs.
It's amazing to be swept into the magic of Jurassic World, you get to come face-to-face with different dinosaurs, and even design your own dinosaur in The Hammond Creation Lab. You can experience the thunderous roar and stomps of the Tyrannosaurs Rex; this is not only an exhibition but an imaginative journey into the thrilling world of prehistoric times. When dinosaurs ruled the earth and is as close as you can get to life-like dinosaurs.
The Journey
Your journey starts with the ferry ride to Isla Nublar, and continues on with a guided tour by a virtual Park Ranger. Following your ferry ride you then get to walk through the famous Jurassic World entry gates. Next you encounter a 7-meter-tall Brachiosaurus and come face to face with a massive 9-meter-long Pachyrhinosaurus and its baby. Step behind the glass into the Hammond Creation Lab and engage with the real-world science surrounding dinosaur DNA. You can also hear the roars of the ferocious T-Rex and Indominus Rex.
There is the Land of the Giants, the Gentle Giants Petting Zoo, T-Rex Kingdom and Feeding Experience, Gyrospherre Valley and Innovation Centre. There are physical appearances of the Ankylosaurus, Brachiosaurus, Pachyrhinosaurus, Parasaurolophus, Stegosaurus and a Stygimoloch. Also appearances from Carnotaurus, Indominus Rex, Tyrannosaurus Rex and even a Velociraptor.

The Exhibition
A tourist attraction where visitors go inside the fictional Jurassic World theme park, located on Isla Nublar. Using animatronic dinosaurs created by Australian company Creature Technology Company and were created in close collaboration with Universal Studios and renowned Palaeontologist, Jack Horner. This was the world premiere of the exhibition and the most successful exhibition at Melbourne Museum, to date. The exhibition blurs the boundaries between reality and science fiction, and although there is a lot of fiction, it is also jam packed with scientific facts
Dinosaurs
I have been a fan of dinosaurs for a very long time, I’ve enjoyed watching all of the Jurassic movies and am very interested in the history and science behind dinosaurs. This exhibition was such an amazing experience and I’m very glad I got to experience it. The dinosaurs were all incredible and so very life-like, or at least how I would imagine them to be through history and entertainment. The only downside of the exhibition was that it was very short, but considering how incredible the animatronic dinosaurs were I can imagine there’s only so much they can do. Still very happy to have experience this exhibition, it was truly incredible.
